Internode (like all ISPs, Banks and other online businesses) occasionally have our customers targeted by e-mail scammers trying to gain personal/account information, specifically ADSL Username and Password information.
Internode will never send emails to you asking you to reply with your Username and Password information. As a rule, you should never respond to any request, from any entity, requesting personal information in this format.
Phishing (pronounced; 'fishing') for this information is a form of identity and internet quota theft. As with any form of communication, be very cautious of e-mail that asks you to reply, enter or "re-verify" your personal details - no matter how real it looks or who it comes from. We strongly recommend that you do not click on any links or open any attachments within the content of e-mails asking for you to enter or re-verify your customer information.
If you believe that you may have responded to these messages with your Customer information, we recommend that you immediately change your ADSL Account password. For assistance, please call the Internode Support Helpdesk between 7:30am - Midnight (ACST), 7 days a week on 13 66 33.
